Raising Capital for Underrepresented Founders
Hi founders! I’m so excited to bring you LIVE STREAMS with me every day at 2:30pm PST / 5:30pm EST . They are 13 minutes and meant to infuse your day with positive energy and inspiration around feminine leadership, startups and social impact.
We hear time and again that a miniscule percentage of money goes to women tech founders and social impact visionaries. Because the VC system wasn't set up to support us. How do we play this game?
The first step is to remember that you are powerful beyond measure. If you're creating a systems-changing solution with deep ripple effects of value for all stakeholders - you are NOT the norm. Let alone being a female/feminine founder, leader, and truth teller. The key is to remember that everyone - whether male or female - operates at their own frequency and level of understanding. We don't have to look up to investors and hope for validation and recognition.
The second we take back our narrative and remember that we are sharing a solution and truth far bigger than what the vast majority of investors can perceive (yet), is the second that the power in the room shifts. That's when we become the leaders and attract values-aligned capital in.
All of the resources are there waiting for us. We just have to align ourselves with the knowing that we know better. That there are myriad ways to raise money, and VC is just one of them. That we have options. That the road will make itself clear, as long as we don't get hung up on being marginalized inside the system.
