You Feel Stuck in Purgatory - Let's Shake that Up

So you’ve been at home for a few weeks now. You moved through the stages of “holy shiz what is going on", transitioning to being at home, dealing with all of the chaos and confusion in your professional and personal life, and then starting to wonder: Am I going to make it out of this?

By “I,” I don’t mean you, as a living human being. You’re fairly certain, statistically speaking, that you’re not going to get sick or die. But “you” as in your purpose, your dreams, your vision, your big “Why” - is it possible for you to keep creating and building your work and social impact as intended, or will you have to course correct? Will you still be able to fundraise this year? Will your operations be affected indefinitely?

Fears are just fears.

You know deep down that you will never go back on your decision to start a world-changing venture. You know that there is too much at stake - for your soul purpose as well as for the world at large - for you to just “stop.” But you can’t help but wonder when things will start picking up. When things will work out and you’ll see your vision manifest, really truly, in alignment with what you intended when you set out.

I have a clear and direct message for you: If you are all-in to your venture - be all in.

You’ve already decided to do this. You’ve already decided you will succeed. Now re-commit to yourself, your vision, your mission. Just because there’s a crisis going on doesn’t mean that life is paused. Your growth as a leader and founder has, on the contrary, accelerated during this time of introspection. Everything is moving all around you. Everything is coming into greater and deeper cosmic alignment for your soul calling to come true.

What is needed of you then, during this time, to make sure that you stay on track?

  1. Don’t make assumptions about what’s possible for you at this time.

There are people making abundant income - even growing it - during this time. There are people who have just closed a fundraising round or will close one in the next 4-5 months. Just like you don’t like slowing down, neither does your audience or even VCs. The main point is that we are collectively moving into a frequency where a lot more is possible - and is faster - than you realize.

  2. Dream and imagine from your Vision.

Why did you start your venture? What sort of a founder did you wish to become in the process? These are hefty and important questions - and there’s a pile of gold that lies on the other side of that tunnel.

You don’t have to traverse these questions alone. That’s what coaches, mentors, loved ones, and friends are for. Open up and allow yourself to be held by your community.

  3. Don’t “set goals,” allow the goals to set themselves.

This might sound like something you don’t understand. But I know that you understand this. There is a part of you that longs to relinquish control over your outcomes - but yet still have the capability to hold your intentions with crystal clear vision. You wish to breathe out deeply - but still have something exciting to work toward every day. That balance is coming in for you as long as you let it happen.

Most of all, be open to the ride. Because whatever it is, this year is surely going to be a hell of a lot of fun!

If you have goals you’re working toward in 2020, I’d love to hear them. Feel free to vent, share, celebrate, or test them with me at hello@thefemalefounderslab.com.
