Finding the Right Teammates and Cofounder

When we are building our team, it can be alluring to go with the first people who seem to be inspired and excited by the same vision, or people who just happen to have skills that you lack. But as a founder - especially when you're the one holding the big vision, you should approach your teammate and cofounder search with an anchored understanding of what you need in the other person.

Cofounder disputes account for the most common reason that startups fail or struggle mightily in the early days, in my experience watching dozens of cofounded startups in the early days. How can you go in with an anchored understanding of the skills, motivations, and characteristics that will support- rather than hinder - you in the long run and you continually grow and up-level yourself?
